One summer changed my life✨

When I was 16, I joined High School Diplomats, a program that brought together high school students from across Japan and the U.S. 🇯🇵🇺🇸

At the time, I had no idea that one summer would change the direction of my life.

Many years later, I founded YU-project, inspired by everything I had learned through Broadway and the performing arts.

Since 2016, I’ve had the honor of returning each year to facilitate YU-semi, YU-project’s signature interactive workshop, as part of this program.

This year marked our 11th year✨🎉

Every year reminds me that human potential expands when people are given a safe space to express themselves honestly, open their bodies, connect with their hearts, step outside their comfort zones, and discover what they’re capable of.

I’m forever grateful to the program that helped shape my own journey, and it’s such a joy to now help create that experience for the next generation. 💙

私の人生を変えた16歳の夏☀️

高校生だった私は、AIGがスポンサーを務める「高校生外交官（High School Diplomats）」プログラムに参加しました。

参加者全員が全額奨学金で参加できるというこのありがたいプログラムのおかげで、日本全国、そしてアメリカから集まった高校生たちと、刺激と学びにあふれた忘れられない夏を過ごしました。🇺🇸🇯🇵

そこでの体験や感動、そして出会いが、私の人生の方向を大きく変え、これをきっかけにアメリカ大学進学を決意しました。

その後、ブロードウェイでの経験や舞台芸術を通して学んだことを形にした YU-PROJECT を立ち上げ、2016年からは参加型セミナー「YUセミ」を通して、このプログラムに毎年関わらせていただいています。

今年で11年目を迎えました🎉

毎年あらためて感じるのは、人の可能性は、安心して自分を表現できる場があることで大きく開かれていくということ。

まずは身体を解放し、心とつながり、一歩踏み出す。

その小さな積み重ねが、「自分にはできるかもしれない」という可能性を育ててくれます。

私の人生を変えてくれたこのプログラムに、今度は次の世代の可能性を広げる立場として関われることに、心から感謝しています✨🙏
