On September 15, 2015, I made my Broadway debut in The King and I at Lincoln Center.

✨ Looking back, I’m reminded that the journey began long before I ever stepped onto that stage.

The second photo is me in my high school choir in Kanazawa, Japan.

My hometown didn’t have a place to experience musical theatre, let alone study or train in it. So I created my own program.

I joined the choir club, participated in a drama club outside of school, joined the English club when it was time for the English speech contest, and went to an English conversation school because my high school focused mostly on reading and writing.

I didn’t have a roadmap to Broadway. I was simply doing what I could with what I had.

Looking back, every one of those little choices was a step.

Being resourceful—doing what you can with what you have—is the name of the game.

If there’s something your heart sings for, no matter how far away it feels, take a step toward it.

No matter how small.

Because that one step can open up new possibilities. 🌈

You are Unlimited!🌈
